A Coastal Engagement Session at The Cloister at Sea Island

This engagement session at The Cloister at Sea Island was a dreamy afternoon spent on the beach! The Cloister is a fabulous five-star resort tucked away on the private Sea Island. It’s elegant, modern, and nestled on 50 lush acres. But, by far one of its best amenities is its private access to over 5 miles of the sea.

April & Taylor are due to be married next year at the Jekyll Island Club, but they were vacationing at The Cloister when they had the idea to schedule their engagement session. They loved the private access to the beach paired with the elegance of the hotel. Which made it the perfect location for their engagement photos. Admittedly, it was my first time at this resort! But, Taylor, in particular, was very familiar with the resort. He graciously guided me around so I could find the best backdrops and scenery for their photos!

The Cloister at Sea Island was an absolute dream! I loved how many tucked-away spots there were on the grounds of the resort to use for April & Taylor’s engagement photos. There were hidden pathways with a bench built just for two. But of course, one of my favorite locations was the dock! Overlooking the water and a beautiful leisurely river boat, we spent half of the session here before moving to the beach.

When we were ready to move the session to the beach, April and Taylor changed out of their formal attire and into some casual, laid-back, beach-friendly attire. Minus their shoes of course! Isn’t that one of the best things about having your engagement photos taken on the beach? No shoes required!
