Being a Miami Wedding Photographer means telling the love stories of my beautiful couples, like Melissa & Geovanny’s wedding day! Their story is one of long-distance love over the span of 7 years!
Melissa and Geo met while Geo was serving in the Marine Corps, thank you for your service, Geo! A mutual friend of theirs showed Geo a picture of Melissa. His response was “that girl is going to be my wife I have to meet her!” From there the couple began their long-distance relationship. They talked over the phone for two weeks before Geo flew out to Chicago to officially meet Melissa. Their connection with each other was instant. From there, their relationship not only began but endured distance over time including Geo’s deployment overseas to Kuwait. During that time the couple was only able to talk to each other in short spurts of time so they learned to make the most of their communication. While Melissa supported Geo and awaited his return from Kuwait, he stood by her as she took on the enormous journey of law school and passing the bar exam.
After hearing their story and knowing all that they had endured while providing love and support to one another, I was honored to be their Miami Wedding Photographer. Being in their presence, it was so easy to see how strong their love is for each other.
Their wedding day took place at Briza on The Bay and it was classic black tie with shades of champagne, gold white, and green. Their florals all had a very organic feel to them (also done in shades of white and green!) and their celebration was a fusion of bringing together their families and cultures. Melissa and Geo began the day by exchanging wedding day gifts while still in their respective getting-ready suites.
Next, we headed over to the Perez Art Museum for the sweet couple to have a first look with each other. The bride and groom loved the proximity of the Perez Art Museum to their venue and expressed that they wanted to take the majority of their wedding day portraits at this location before their reception. During this time we also captured their group photos with their bridal party. Melissa and Geo were eager to spend as much time as possible hitting the dance floor with their guests and didn’t want to be pulled away for photos. So we worked on a photography timeline for their day that was specific to their needs! After they said I do in a heartfelt ceremony, Geo changed from his military uniform into a tux and the couple spent the night in each other’s arms and dancing up a storm!
