Let’s Talk About Lenses

I am in love with all of my lenses. I kind of think of them as my babies,  but there’s one that I can’t leave home without, it’s my 50 1.2L lens. The 50 1.2L is my favorite lens so far. I have used it a ton and, the more I use it, the more impressed I am with it. One of the things I love about this lens is the versatility it has. The 50mm is such an awesome all purpose lens you can shoot almost anything with a 50 mm. Lots of photographers claim 50mm lenses as their favorite- it works for everything!

While I love my 85 1.2L, I prefer being close to my subjects and really enjoy that I can maintain a close distance to my clients with the 50mm. With the 85 1.2L, I often feel too far back. For photo sessions my 50 1.2L  stays on my camera most of the time, switching to my 35mm for wider shots only.

All of my images taken with the 50 1.2L   are consistent and, as a wedding photographer, I can’t even express how awesome it is to have a reliable lens at this focal length. And the last thing it makes this lens my favorite, it handles backlight like a champ. It doesn’t hunt for focus in backlight situations -it’s a great lens!
